The Well of Knowledge

This is my take on the Norse story of Mimir's well of knowledge, where Odin sacrificed his own eye to drink from and gain unattainable wisdom. In my depiction Mimir drinks from the well and meditates for centuries, until a great tree has grown around his body.
Using the tree as a vessel, Mimir burrows his roots into the minds of those looking to drink from the well. Mimir collects there knowledge through the trees roots and adds it to the pools waters, ever growing the information the well can offer.

Drew some inspiration from the new God of war and how Mimir is first found within a tree.

Odin asked to reap the rewards from the well of knowledge, Mimir replied that Odin must first bear the burden of sacrifice."

My original thumbnail and idea generation process, didn't really know what I wanted to produce to start with but ran with a Nordic dark fantasy theme across all ideas. This led to me landing on a dark imagining of Mimirs well of knowledge.
